Hi Sarah, with an “H”!

Today, Laura and I took one of the members of our Junior High class out to Chili’s, Old Navy and the Mall. We also had a new “intern” Sarah with us. It was fun… except we got a late start, so by the time we hit the mall we only just had time to swap out some shoes I had ordered, and return something that Sarah had gotten from Aeropostale.

It’s funny… I run around saying “dot com” almost every time someone calls my name, and if I don’t, then a few other people still call it out – and yet some people are still surprised to find out that I have my own website.

It’s funny, how us geeky people have made the internet such a scary place that we keep regular people away by making them think this whole thing is big, scary, and complicated. Muhahahahaha!!

I don’t feel great – got some sinus/alergy stuff going on – so I’m off to bed.

Optimus keyboard

Wow… I want an Optimus keyboard. I really hope they come out with software that’s pretty easy to set it up the way you want though… I would hate for it to come out and be “sooooo awesome”, only to find out that you have to download or use default key layouts, preprogrammed by other people. Then again, it being open source, I’m sure there will be someone (me?) that will create such a program, should one not exist by launch, that will allow you to choose a graphic and a key to display it on.

And the ability to launch whole strings from one keystroke!
ACK! The nerd level in my blood is shooting through the roof. I need sugar!

Instant Bride’s Maid

A friend of Laura and I got married today in a courthouse. We were invited, along with several other friends. While sitting in attendance, the somewhat humorous judge told them to at least go ahead and pick a person each to be “best man” and “bride’s maid” ( I only think the apostrophe is in the right place. =)), so that one could hold the rings for the groom, and the other the bouquet that the bride had been carrying.

I wasn’t picked, as there was a much closer friend to the groom available, however Laura was called out and told to “hop to” to be the maid of honor, or what-not. Being that we were in a courthouse, all but the couple and family were dressed pretty casual, and even the couple weren’t in a tux and dress… of course. So, Laura and her denim jacket got to be an on-the-spot bride’s maid today.

It was very cute/nice for a courthouse wedding. I always just pictured someone sitting behind a desk and saying “okay, you sign here, and you sign here… alright… witness? … okay, we’re done here”. Apparently I was wrong. They got a mini-ceremony, vows and all. It was great.

And those were the highlights!

tommygeorge on 43 People

So, the 43things network is apparently going crazy. I’m not at all up to date on technology news (which, considering my job, I should be), but I’m amazed that I haven’t heard more about it. I recently got an email notification that someone knew me on 43people.com. Wuh? So I checked it out.
And it was good.

Why the heck is MySpace [ha! no link!] so popular? Ugh!

I think the 43things network is awesome. [Do it. Do it now.] Just in case you were wondering, yes, and here are the links: me on 43people, me on 43things, surf around and keep an eye out for more.

Sneak Peek Movie Promo

A friend of Laura and I invited us (and gave us the tickets) to go see a ‘sneak peek’ of Glory Road, the new Disney movie.

I’m not a huge fan of watching sports, or movies about sports, but this was a pretty good movie. Yes, it’s a Disney movie, and probably “family safe”, but it touched on a lot of issues that the kids probably won’t know anything about… so I guess it’s a good opportunity to explain some things. Anyway, I didn’t mean to be a movie critic or anything. But it was a good movie. Overall. Mostly.

Anyway…

We had a great time.

I think my DSL is being screwy. First, Opera stopped going to Adobe.com (anything else is fine, as you can see… er… imagine maybe). But IE was doing everything fine, until I tried to download a trial of Adobe Audition. When I had to register to download, I select “United States” in the Where I Am thingy, and click Register… and it can’t find the server.

Is that me? Or them?
ARRRG!!!

The End.
