A List Apart
“Wow”.
A List Apart (redesigned).
It’s beautiful.
Well, so far. We’ll see if I have more to say about that later… = )

I can’t hold it in any longer… I must publish the photo! I was going to do a promotional Eighth Page (about 4.25″x2.75″) full color glossy for The House, using this beautiful picture as a background, over which to set various opaque blocks, outlines, etc., containing the informational text.

The intended design was something like this. [they send a postcard of the background design].
Lo, however – the decision makers that be decided against the head, after being shown the first rough, with a little text hither and thither. That was absolutely alright, though. I went back to the drawing board [photoshop] and came up with something that was apparently (I wasn’t there) absolutely stunning.
Lesson 1: don’t give up when people don’t agree right away.
Lesson 2: just because the back of your head was unknowingly shot in a picture, doesn’t mean that the back of your head will become famous. Some people might not like it. = )
I can’t remember what I was about to write. So I’ll tell you this instead: I sit at a mostly-normal angle to my desk, at a mostly-normal height, with my arm mostly extended to the mouse. For the last week I’ve been working at my computer a lot (well, more than usual), and suddenly my wrist is beginning to hurt. Hmpf! Time to get out that pamphlet that came with the computer. Something about ergonomic safety or some such.
Also, I have to admit that sometimes I use the ‘Press It’ WordPress shortcut just to open this window, and not to actually write about the webpage I was viewing. That’s okay, right?
Hmm… Think, think, think. [I can just see Whinnie the Pooh tapping his head].
Ah, yes… in an attempt to de-anorexiate my links list, and to provide more useful information to help me remember my links, I’m going to only bookmark websites to my blog. However, I will not be employing any other software to help manage that. Just me and WordPress. WordPress and I. Whatever.
I was about to put a link to Boing Boing on my links list (so far a very anorexic list), but being the paranoid person I am, I hate for people to think I “promote” something or someone that perhaps I don’t actually agree with. So, checking out the site, I was saddened to find so much content bashing my moral beliefs. Arrg… yes, yes, I know – and I won’t force my moral beliefs on you if you don’t force your moral beliefs on me. It works both ways. Got it? Great.
Now, I think it’s funny about the whole Pastafarian movement. I also have not yet read anything about what’s going on in Kansas (other than what was actually on Boing Boing), so I can’t back up everything they’re doing, either.
I just see too many attitudes cropping up in all this. From “Christians” and “non-Christians” alike. Evolution remains mostly theory. So if that can be taught in a classroom, why can’t something like Creationism? If you read that article, you’ll notice that even the “creationists” don’t all agree. There are multiple views of “creationism”.
But since I’ve yet to even look up what Kansas is doing, and since I’m trying to convey that I’m not on either side of this thing, I’m going to shut up now. Ah, yes – And Boing Boing will get a link. Just not tonight.

An Open Source C# and VB.NET IDE and Compiler? I’m not really following this yet, as the category mentions, I just stumbled upon it. I’m going to check into some more, and let you know what I find out. If you already use this or know more about it than just the feature list, by all means post a comment or email me.
